Therapy For Teens And Young Adults in Campbell, California

Helping teens and young adults get to a better place in their lives.

These days, life as a young person isn’t easy. There’s the typical stresses like school, friends, and raging hormones, and in 2023 there’s also all the added stress like the pandemic, climate change, and pressure to show up on social media in just the right way. It’s a lot.

Maybe you're noticing that your teen often feels stressed, tired, and unmotivated. You’re often worried about them and really want them to be ok. It is so hard to see your child struggling so much. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just wave a magic wand and fix their pain?

Stressed and Overwhelmed! Is Your Teen Or Young Adult Going Through Any Of The Following?

Do any of the following resonate with what you’re witnessing?

They are often feeling down, struggling to feel motivated to do anything.

They feel lonely, like no one understands them.

They are in a constant state of panic and it rules their life.

They feel like they are wandering through life, feeling like something is missing or their balance is "off."

They are struggling with focus and attention problems that leave them feeling frustrated.

The teen and young adult years can be a stressful time. But even on their worst days, when they are sad, tired, or angry at the entire world, you love them unconditionally. The good news is it’s possible for things to get better. Reaching out for help can provide the support and encouragement they need.

Change Perspective On Life

Cognitive behavioral therapy helps young people rise above their challenges and start moving towards their ideal life with less confusion and more confidence.

Teens will gain the practical tools they need to find their way through difficult feelings and situations, ways to manage stress, and tools to cope with it.

Even if your teen is nervous about starting therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy may be able to help. I’ve helped young people struggling with constant worry find their way to feeling more calm without having to give up their daily commitments. My clients discover that it's possible to be productive without living life and doing work at a frenzied pace.

My name is Nolan Johnson and I am a counselor and human who is here to help.

How Therapy For Teens And Young Adults Works

Cognitive behavioral therapy consists of 50-minute, one-on-one sessions that help teens work through their concerns. In addition to listening, I will guide them towards solutions. I play an active role. Here’s how it will work step-by-step:

First, I provide a safe, accepting space so that teens will feel comfortable sharing their struggles with me.

Through hearing their story, I will start to get a picture of what their challenges are.

We will start with helping your teen with immediate concerns like managing difficult emotions and challenging life situations.

We will also work to discover what your teen’s goals are in therapy and in life.

Keeping your teen’s unique goals in mind, we’ll figure out what’s needed to help reach them.

Over the course of our sessions, they will start making progress towards the life they desire.

Research shows that cognitive behavioral therapy can positively change your thinking, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. It can help young people let go of what’s holding them back.
